Maintenance Technician I

Town of Palm Beach Shores
Full Time:  $17.00 Hourly
Hours: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Monday to Friday
Department: Public Works

Maintenance Technician I  This position will work at Town Hall Building located at 247 Edwards Lane, Palm Beach Shores FL 33404. In addition, this position offers: Vacation and Sick Leave Accruals Paid Holidays Town of Palm Beach Shores Medical Benefits that include Life Insurance, Dental and Vision coverage Retirement Plan : This position is primarily responsible for maintenance and janitorial responsibilities as assigned.

Under the direction of Public Works Director, performs maintenance and janitorial responsibilities as assigned.


Responsible for preparing Town Hall Meeting Room and Community Center for events as outlined on “Activities Calendar”Empty trash cans at Beach area and Parks Janitorial duties performed daily at all Town facilities Maintain Parkway Fountain Irrigation maintenance and repairs Construction Projects as assigned Painting Projects as assigned Street Light maintenance and repairs Lift station / Sewer maintenance and repairs Storm Drain maintenance and repairs Streets / Street Signs maintenance and repairs Pressure Washing all Town facilities and sidewalks

Responsible for general upkeep of all Town areas performing tasks as necessary to maintain these areas Keep garage, storage rooms and work area neat and clean at all times Other duties as assigned by Public Works Director Overtime as required (include weekends)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of practices, techniques and equipment used in public works operations and maintenance Ability to communicate clearly and concisely Ability to work independently and effectively in organizing and implementing various assigned tasks Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with, department officials, other employees, and the public

Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or Equivalency preferred

Related training and experience Facility Maintenance 2 yr.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a valid Florida State driver’s license

Activities occur both inside and outside. Worker is exposed to extreme heat above 90 degrees for periods of more than one hour during summer season and below 40 degrees during winter months.
